Heritage University
Pronouns: she/her
Sarah “Adrian” Rice grew up in Takoma Park, Maryland, just over the line from Washington DC. She has a bachelor’s degree in exercise science from University of Utah and completed physician assistant studies at Heritage University in Washington State. Adrian completed two rotations in Maine during physician assistant training and since then has wanted to work in Maine — it felt like being out West but without having to leave the East coast.
Adrian’s first job, after graduating from PA school, was in orthopedics. However, missing the connections she had with patients in her primary care rotations, Adrian accepted a position at a family medicine practice in Maryland. This cemented her passion for primary care. She enjoyed problem solving and figuring out complex cases. She also enjoyed teaching and helping people understand how their body works.
Adrian is happiest when she is outside with her dog – hiking, skiing, and gardening. She also enjoys rock climbing and has recently taken up woodworking. Her clinical practice is based in Waterville, at Maine Dartmouth Family Practice.
