Medical School: University of Nevada School of Medicine
Family Medicine Residency: UCLA Family Medicine Residency
Sports Medicine Fellowship: UCLA Sports Medicine Fellowship
After 18 years of living in Wyoming, Maryland, and Las Vegas (oh, the stories!), Jim left Nevada to attend the University of Southern California. Missing all the great skiing in Nevada, Jim returned to go to the University of Nevada School of Medicine. That experience crystallized his interest in family and sports medicine and sent him packing his bags for UCLA where he learned lots of cool stuff from one of the founding fathers of sports medicine, Dr. James Puffer.
Jim has worn a variety of hats during an academic and private practice career that took him from UCLA to Michigan State back to Las Vegas, over to middle Tennessee, and now finally to Maine where he practices sports medicine (his true passion) and pursues research and teaching interests in that area. He is a pretty decent marathon runner but loves four seasons and is enjoying all that Maine has to offer with his wife Wendy and their two children.
Jim teaches family medicine residents and is a core faculty member of the sports medicine fellowship.
